How service dogs are changing the lives of humans.
So many dogs are used in service today to assist the military,the visually impaired, people with hearing difficulties, the mentally ill,the diabetic, and lately even children with autism.Although, there are so many breeds that can be trained to perform as service dogs,the most common breeds are ,the German Shepherd, the Golden Retriever and the Labrador retriever.
According to the United States Department of Agriculture, the origin of service dogs can be traced back to World War 1. They were used in Germany in the 1920s to help blind veterans.
Since then, the use of service dogs has been on the rise and dogs are continually being trained to render both emotional and mental support to their owners.To learn more about assistance dogs,click here
